Most people gear up for the day-after-turkey-day shopping. Me? I'm gearing up for the day-before -frantic-rush-to-find-all-the-stuff-for-your-dinner rush. I work in a grocery store.

So while you're out there pushing your way through the crush of the people looking for the stuffing and cranberry sauce (aisle 5 and 7 respectively), be sure to be nice to your grocery store associates. We're doing our best to get your on your way.

I hope you all have a safe and happy holiday!

I'm always nice to the grocery store workers, even the ditzy one I met yesterday. She was rambling on in a very stream-of-consciousness way and mentioned something about not wanting to be caught "doing something silly." I tried to jump into her monologue by saying nowadays if you do something silly, the video of it will end up on YouTube.

"You're so right," she said with a laugh. "You know, I like the band U2, but I just don't know what to think of the video."

After that, I just smiled and let her do the talking.

That's one of the funniest and saddest things that I've heard all day. I swear she must work for me.

This is right up there with a momnet I had today when I mentioned to one of my shiftleaders that a girl's hair looked like Deborah Harry. She said, "Who?". I said, "You know... Blondie?". She just shook her head and said she was going to have to go Google her and find out who she is... I felt very old.

Welcome to the Great Divide, Teagan, where you start to notice that there are people out there who don't recognize your entertainment icons - YOUNGER people. It only hurts for a little while.

At any rate, have a great Thanksgiving!

My DH works for a food broker part time now doing resets. He used to be a full timer, but it was too crazy. The store managers don't want them in the food stores very close to the holidays, since it's way too busy.
